Introduction

In the first module, we explore the new (and sometimes radical) technical possibilities that generative AI brings to business. We will examine how generative AI can transform everyday business tasks across various functions and sectors. We begin by analyzing a typical day in the office---and see firsthand how these technologies can reshape workflows and drive innovation.

GenAI in Action: Maizey Case Study

In this module, we take an in-depth look at a real-world business where generative AI is deployed in a complex environment. We'll examine the end-to-end process of designing and implementing a generative AI-based learning assistant at the University of Michigan, which provides 24/7 Q&A support to thousands of students. This case study will highlight key lessons on selecting the right business area for AI transformation, integrating the appropriate data, and deploying strategies to maximize value and ensure success---concepts that we'll expand and refine in the next courses.

GenAI Concepts

In this closing module, we will unpack the case and concepts discussed so far, and explain the key terminology that defines the specifics of how generative AI functions. The course concludes with a guided case study that will assess your ability to leverage what you've learned to appraise appropriate generative AI applications. We'll also provide supplemental resources for your continued learning and reference.
