Mastering Midjourney: Midjounery V6 Tutorial for Beginners

This is an extensive guide on Midjourney, which is a fantastic service that can turn text descriptions into images and alter existing images as well. Midjourney is easy to use once you know about the commands you have complete control over the whole process and can use it to output the most amazing pictures.

Getting Started with Midjourney

First, go to this buddy-site and use social networks, messengers, and other platforms to join the Midjourrey Discord community and move to the sections for those who recently joined the server. For this tutorial, you can use any room on the left side of the screen. The text to image generation can be invoked in the chat through typing /imagine once the user is in the room.

The Perfect Prompt Formula

The skill of composing the appropriate prompt is one of the most important factors in creating high-quality images. The ideal prompt formula consists of the following elements:The ideal prompt formula consists of the following elements:

  1. Medium: Describe the type/technique of the image like whether the image is an ‘oil on canvas’ or ‘digital artwork’.
  2. Style/Composition: Elaborate on its aesthetic concerning the style or composition of the picture, it’s kind – such as an impressionist or surrealistic image.
  3. Scene: Describe what exactly is occurring in the picture or what picture is being painted such as “A woman sitting in a garden holding a book and reading”.
  4. Modulate: More details or changes to be made on the image: such as ‘Paint the colors bright and strokes relaxed’.
  5. Dash-Dash: Add any other details or parameters, which might be the aspect ratio, or the resolution of the video.

Example 1: Oil Painting

Let’s create an oil painting using the perfect prompt formula:

/imagine oil painting impressionist woman reading a book in a sun-drenched garden, make the colors vibrant and brush strokes loose, --aspect ratio 4:3
Prompt: /imagine oil painting impressionist woman reading a book in a sun-drenched garden, make the colors vibrant and brush strokes loose, –aspect ratio 4:3

Hit enter and wait for Midjourney to generate the image. You can then upscale or vary the image using the U and V options.

Example 2: Digital Art

Next, let’s create a digital art piece using the same formula:

/imagine digital art surreal a CD floating in the cloud, hypothetical Addis of mystery and wonder, --zoom 2x
Prompt: /imagine digital art surreal a CD floating in the cloud, hypothetical Addis of mystery and wonder, –zoom 2x

Again, hit enter and wait for the image to generate. You can then upscale or vary the image as desired.

Example 3: Black and White Image

For our final example, let’s create a black and white image:

/imagine black and white alone astronaut standing on the surface of Mars, focus on the vastness and isolation of the landscape, --zoom 2x
Prompt: /imagine black and white alone astronaut standing on the surface of Mars, focus on the vastness and isolation of the landscape, –zoom 2x

Hit enter and wait for the image to generate. You can then upscale or vary the image as desired.

Image-to-Image Creation

Finally, it is as already mentioned possible to upload your own images and generate everything new in Midjourney. To do this, follow these steps:
